Hello everyone! I have decided to move into audio productions for my essays. I wanted to create content for people who prefer video formats. However, I didn’t want to just rehash my essay, so I decided to make a video expanding on my thoughts, some of my methodology, and just a dig a little more into the topic. Having listened to it, not sure this is worth your time - it felt a lot like paraphrasing a relatively polished essay into a relatively unpolished forty-minute monologue, and the handful of new points raised could just as easily have been added in a few paragraphs in the original.
If your concern is reaching people with short attention spans, you'd need a video summary that's five minutes or less, and if your concern is reaching people who listen to long-form text instead of reading it, you'd be better off just reading your essay as the whole video. I'm not sure who the audience is supposed to be for this summary-longer-than-original format.
