Progress Report for Trantor Publishing #6
Hey everyone! Sorry this progress report was a little delayed, but it comes with a lot of announcements and changes to the Substack. I’m looking to restructure Trantor Publishing now that Gigaheroes (pending possible name change) is finally finished. My plans with the novel are to do one final pass to clean up sentence structure plus potentially add a few scenes and minor worldbuilding changes for the paperback release.
There will be a kickstarter for the book to commission actual cover art and help fund the costs of editing. I plan to offer paid subscribers free signed copies in thanks for their support and patronage of Trantor Publishing.
In addition, there will be a lot more benefits for paid subscribers going forward. With the completion of Gigaheroes, I am announcing a new fiction serial titled The Last Human. It will be a space opera examining a post-human galaxy. More details will come soon, but this serial will be exclusive to paid subscribers.
I plan on running one free and one monetized serial going forward. There will also be exclusive articles for my generous supporters. Once The Domes of Calrathia is finished, paid subscribers will also be able to vote for which of my books to receive a sequel.
As for those wondering about the exclusive short stories, they are unfortunately going to be taking a backseat for a while. I find them really taxing to write, and they have generally slowed my overall output. They’re a big component of why not everything put to voting gets done, and I don’t want to continue running the votes for content that might never see the light of day.
What I want to be focusing on for the next six months is producing reliable, steady content instead of having huge gaps in the month where nothing is posted at all. The exclusive stories will remain exclusive, and if inspiration particularly strikes me, I’ll write more. But they are sadly not going to be a central part of this Substack for the time being.
With this revamp and change in production focus, I hope to be creating more content faster for paid and free subscribers alike. I especially aim to make the experience of being a paid subscriber of my Substack much more rewarding and worth your money.
As always, thank you for your support
